Cancer is not fair. At all. For those of us who have received the news that you, or a loved one, have been diagnosed with cancer know that it comes with many overwhelming emotions. Fear, uncertainty, hopelessness, anger. With more than 800,000 new cases of cancer among women in the United States expected this year (according to the American Cancer Society) chances are you or someone you know has been touched by the disease and felt this wave of emotions.

Late last year, my (then) 29 year-old sister was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer. With little to no family history of breast cancer, she had never had (or needed to have) a mammogram before and luckily found this on her own. Thanks to her amazing team of doctors, and the support of family and friends, my sister is on the road to recovery and is not only surviving, but thriving.
